Charleston Alley Cats
The Charleston Alley Cats were a professional baseball team based in Charleston, West Virginia, active from 1971 to 2004 in the South Atlantic League (SAL), affiliated with several MLB franchises.
Drawn to their original and fun visual style, I took on the challenge of modernizing their branding for a potential team revival. Drawing inspiration from the original design, I created a more contemporary version, adding a vibrant orange for a livelier and more playful look. The Cats will thus bring a colorful touch on and off the field during sunny days.

Secondary logo
The central element is the cat's head, easily recognizable and used across various media for quick identification. This choice ensures immediate recognition and enhances the brand's visual impact. Integrated into both traditional and digital media, this visual consistency creates a strong, unified identity, boosting memorability and audience engagement.
Third logo
The logo subtly integrates the cat's striped tail into the letter "c," enhancing the connection to the feline theme. This distinctive touch evokes a street cat's appearance and symbolizes the brand's creativity and dynamism, ensuring quick recognition and capturing the playful, bold essence desired.
Fourth logo
In this final version, the team's nickname is paired with the mascot illustration, creating a complete graphic option that can enhance merchandising.
Typography
A typographic presentation for the team's jerseys and color schemes. The chosen typography is a simple, readable script style, in line with the team's previous design. The text is slightly elevated on the right to add a touch of movement.
The numbers reflect the idea of the cat, appearing furry with a dynamic design to give the whole a more fun visual, in line with the club's various logos.
Uniforms
Home
The Charleston Alley Cats wear a classic white uniform for certain home games. The white jersey features orange and black details, while the color of the pants and socks is different to give it a punchier style.
Away
In English: The gray uniform is worn for away games by the team. It's on the cap where the fourth logo "C" makes its appearance. We also see the introduction of black stripes. Orange socks may sometimes be worn as well.
Alternate
In sports, teams need to have another option to adapt. The uniform combines black and orange, with the nickname "Cats" on the jersey. The ensemble is a play of contrast and remains a safe bet.
